Progression of new greenway for Barnesmore Gap continues

Members of the public have been invited to consultation evenings on the new Greenway at Barnesmore Gap.

The greenway will be run between Donegal Town and the Twin Towns of Ballybofey and Stranorlar.

In November 2023, the preferred route for the greenway was selected following a series of surveys and meetings with landowners.

Now the public have been invited to give their feedback on the selected location.

The non-statutory public consultations are to get underway tomorrow (Friday) and will run to   Friday, June 27.

The project is currently in phase 3 of its development, Design and Environmental Evaluation.

Donegal County Council with the support of Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) and a technical engineering consulting team, ROD-AECOM, is progressing the development of the Barnesmore Gap Greenway project.

The council say the purpose of this public consultation is to inform the public of the preferred route and to invite feedback.

Donegal County Council are now inviting the residents of the Donegal Town and Ballybofey/Stranorlar areas, members of the public and other interested parties to participate in a non-statutory public consultation.

Consultations will take place in Ballybofey and Donegal Town as follows:
