PRESIDENTIAL candidate and Independent TD, Catherine Connolly has said she is looking forward to meeting and engaging with local communities when she pays a visit to Donegal later this week.
Catherine will be in the county on Thursday and Friday, September 11 and 12.
Her schedule includes visits to Arranmore Island, Gaoth Dobhair, Milford, Buncrana, and Malin Head on Thursday; and Letterkenny, Ballybofey, the Glenties Harvest Fair, Ardara, and Donegal Town on Friday.
“I’m delighted to be visiting Donegal again,” Catherine said.
“It is a county of great beauty and wonderful people, and I look forward to meeting and engaging with local communities next Thursday and Friday.
“It is a county that acutely faces the same challenges that we face across the State. The housing crisis, inadequate healthcare services, a chronic lack of infrastructure – they cause immense stress and suffering for so many.
“The defective concrete crisis has been an enduring blow to Donegal and the north west. It is a disgrace that homeowners still wait for a genuine 100% redress scheme for all those affected by defective concrete products.
“Donegal also continues to mourn those killed in Creeslough in 2022. The families still wait for answers and they still wait for a public inquiry. It is long past time when the families should have the answers and the justice they deserve.
“We think of the victims and their families and friends as the third anniversary of that terrible event approaches,” she said.
