President Michael D Higgins to come to Donegal

PRESIDENT Michael D Higgins will arrive in Donegal on Wednesday morning to attend the funerals of the Creeslough explosion victims James O’Flaherty and mother and son James Monaghan and Catherine O’Donnell.
Because of prior commitments on Tuesday President Higgins has to be in Strasbourg at the Council of Europe. However, he will be represented by his Aide De Camp (ADC) at the funerals of Jessica Gallagher and Martin McGill tomorrow.
The President’s Press secretary told the Donegal News today that President Higgins would be flying back to Ireland on Tuesday evening and attend the funerals of Robert Garwe and his daughter Shauna, Hugh Kelly, Leona Harper and Martina Martin over the coming days.
“During his time in Donegal he will also meet with the families of the deceased as well as with members of the emergency services,” the press secretary said.
