A post mortem examination is expected to take place this morning following the death of a pensioner in a house fire.
The blaze broke out at around 4pm yesterday afternoon at a house in The Illies area of Buncrana.
It is understood the victim was in her 90s and lived alone.

The area was sealed off while forensic examiners tried to establish what caused the fire.
The woman’s body was taken to Letterkenny Hospital where it is understood a post mortem will be carried out later this morning.
