A POPULAR west Donegal priest Fr Brian Ó Fearraigh is preparing to chop his flowing black curls next weekend in aid of a very special cause.
The event organised by ‘Na Selkies’ will take place next Friday and all the proceeds will go to young Gaoth Dobhair boy, Oisín Campbell.
Oisín was born with a rare life limiting chromosomal condition. He faces daily struggles with both his health and development.
The eight year old is under palliative care and requires nursing support 24 hours a day.
This is one of a number of fundraisers organised by Na Selkies. Two weeks ago they organised a successful swim from Inis Meáin to Port Arthur in Gaoth Dobhair.
Maighreád Gallagher, a member of the swimming group Na Selkies has also agreed to a head shave on the night.
Those who are set to brave the shave will have their first trimming in Teach Coll, Coll’s Bar in Magheraroarty at 8.30pm on Friday, September 22.
They will then move to Teach Sheáin Óig, Middletown, Derrybeg for the final cut at 10pm.
The event organisers are encouraging people to come along for support on the night or to donate on GoFundMe.
