Popular car run to return to Muff

By Eoghan O’Boyle

TWO years ago, the tarmac of Muff Main Street was graced by the rubber from the wheels of some of the world’s fastest, most luxurious and expensive cars in the inaugural Muff Run in aid of the Little Blue Heroes.

The village itself is no stranger to car shows, with the Muff Vintage Show being an annual event since 2013, The Muff Run however brought flair, luxury and style in a volume that the village had never before seen. Sleek and classy Jaguars and Aston Martins drove all around Donegal to the delight of the little honorary Gardaí dotted along the route.

The run had a second edition in 2024, the car park of Treehouse Restaurant was the venue and the Jaguars and Aston Martins were accompanied by Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis and many more luxury vehicles, by all means the proverbial ‘kitchen sink’ was thrown at the event in order to pique the interest of car enthusiasts of all tastes.

The run itself was Ireland’s sole invite-only run that consisted of 20 cars that spanned over two nights and was well received and supported. All proceeds for the 2024 run were directed towards The Eoin Henry Foundation and The Donegal Hospice.

The 2025 edition looks to build on and the success of 2024’s run, retaining its status of being the country’s sole invite only run, expanding to 27 entries and travelling to locations all across Donegal including: Ardara, Dungloe, Bundoran and Ballybofey, with the drivers staying at The Lough Eske Hotel on both nights, all the signs are there for an improved event this year.

The run is leaving Muff on Friday, September 19 at 9am and will continue on to Saturday, September 20, with proceeds once again going toward The Donegal Hospice and The Eoin Henry Foundation.
