Lady members are honoured to take part in the Charlie Cullen Memorial Competition on Saturday 21 September.

It will be a poignant and touching day as we all remember the man Charlie was, a friend to all and a man who enjoyed life to the full. Nell, Leroy, Derek and the wider Cullen family deserve this day and we thank them for allowing us to celebrate the Past President and Past Captain’s contribution to life with them.

Charlie was a community man, fear pobail, and had many interests, be it his Tai Chi lessons on the beach, leading Banna Píob Ghaoth Dobhair or The New York Police Pipes and Drums Band or partaking in many a ‘sing song’ with his unique rendition of ‘The Swiss Maid’ demonstrating his yodelling skills, we, as Galf Chumann Ghaoth Dobhair members, are proud that the Golf Club was one of his passions.

He was particularly generous with his time when he spent hours giving golf lessons to new members.

It is fitting that the proceeds of the day will benefit the Donegal Hospice.

While the timesheet is filling up quickly, slots are still available. The format is Mixed Singles Stableford, it is an Open competition, visitors, ladies and gents welcome. Entry fee €15, donations welcome. Presentation of Prizes, Fundraising Auction, Music and Refreshments in Clubhouse on Saturday night. John Cannon will provide the music.

Everybody welcome, members and friends, bígí ann do oíche chéiliurtha.
