Polish celebrations in Letterkenny

FOLLOWING the canonization of John Paul II, the first ever Polish pope, an evening of celebration will be held in the Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny tomorrow (Thursday), May 8 at 6pm.

This celebration is called ‘The Messenger of Love’. The ‘Leszczynki’ group will perform 11 songs, followed by a multimedia presentation in Polish and English. This presentation will show important Polish places and events. The audience will listen to the message of John Paul II, and see little-known images. The presentation will be interactive and the audience will be invited to get involved.

The ‘Leszczynki’ (or Hazel’s group) are students of the Polish School which is based in Errigal College, Letterkenny. The evening of celebration is organised by the Polish School in cooperation with the Parents’ Association and the Polish cultural non-profit association called Little Homeland.

Everyone is invited to enjoy this multi-lingual celebration of Saint John Paul II. Tickets are €2. and can be bought in ‘Your Delicatessan’ shop, ‘u Violki’ shop, and the ‘New Butcher’ shop on the Pearse Road. People can also pay at the door.
