Polestar traffic lights to become effective next week

By Dionne Meehan

THE newly installed traffic lights at the busy Pole Star Roundabout are set to come into operation on Tuesday, October 17.

The new traffic lights, which were installed in June 2023, are the result of a €200,000 project carried out by Donegal County Council.

In a statement issued on Friday, Donegal County Council urged all road users to follow the white lining around the roundabout as marked.

“There is a crossover from the inside lane to the outside lane of the roundabout when travelling from 4 Lane Road to Ramelton Road which is opposite the Neil T Blaney Road junction.

“If this is not followed then traffic coming from Neil T Blaney Road may not be able to access the roundabout when they have the green light to go.

“There will be no more exiting to the Ramelton Road from the inside of the roundabout,” the statement concluded.
