Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair 2-11 St Patrick’s Keady 6-5
Goals win games and that was the story in Celtic Park as Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair lost out to St Patrick’s, Keady in the Markey Cup semi-final.
Keady’s first score was a goal which came through Liam Rafferty, but the Gaoth Dobhair men responded well and Jordi Ó Gribin (0-2), Padraig Mac Giolla Bhríde and Oisin Ó Duibhir levelled it at 1-1 to 0-4.
Paidi Comiskey hit the net next and Rafferty added his second point as Keady led by 2-2 to 0-7 at the break, Ó Duibhir pointing twice more for Danny Curran’s men.
Mairtin Mac Giolla Chomhaill put the West Donegal men ahead with a goal, but Keady then hit the net three times in as many minutes through Sean Óg McNaughton, Peter Keegan and Danny McGee.
Both sides traded scores before Keady hit their sixth goal through Keegan, while Cathal Mac Aoidh got a goal back for his side in added time but it was too little, too late for the Gaoth Dobhair side.
