A number of Donegal GAA players have had transfers granted in January.
Anthony Gallagher, who has been a consistent performer, for St Eunan’s at underage and senior level, has now linked up with St Brigid’s in Dublin.
Conor McBrearty has returned to Madrid Harps from Letterkenny Gaels.
McBrearty tends to spend the early part of the year in Spain but is expected to be back to line out in the Junior ‘A’ Championship later in the year.
St Michael’s will be down a key defender in 2026 as Jamie Hunter has headed to Australia and will play for the St Finbarr’s club.
Joseph Shankey, who played with Naomh Conaill as they won the Senior ‘B’ Championship title in 2025, has joined the ranks of Meath club Kilmainhamwood.
Buncrana man and former Donegal senior team physio Shane McClean is now working in Galway and will play for Salthill-Knocknacarra going forward.
Kieran Larkin who impressed with the St Eunan’s hurlers last year has transferred back to his native Moyne/Templetuohy in Tipperary.
Meanwhile, St Mary’s, Convoy have been boosted with news that John Toye will be available this season.
Toye has been an important forward for Convoy previously but joined St Jude’s in Dublin last term.
However, he has now come back to St Mary’s and will help their cause in the Junior ‘A’ Championship.
Another man who has returned from the capital is Naomh Brid’s Darragh Brogan.
The former county minor played with Ballymun Kickhams but has now with the Trummon club once more.
2024 Sigerson Cup winner Ronan McGeehin has transferred back to St Eunan’s from North London Shamrocks.
Darragh O’Donnell has transferred back to Kilcar after spending some time in Australia.
Shay Travers, who starred for Four Masters at underage, is on the books at Tir Chonaill Park once again after a spell with Mayo club Shrule/Glencorrib.
