KIND-HEARTED Kerrykeel couple Michael and Mary Whoriskey are on the hunt for unwanted plastic Santa and snowmen decorations for their magnificent charity Christmas lights display.
The couple have been transforming their Gortcally garden into a magical winter wonderland for almost 20 years, raising over €100,000 for numerous charities.
The charity that will benefit this year is Cancer Care West Donegal.
Cancer Care West provide professional community-based practical and emotional support services, free of charge, to anyone affected by cancer as they believe no-one should have to go through a cancer experience alone.
The family’s lights display has become a beloved tradition for families to create special memories.
The beautiful setting has also seen many pop the question,
with many engagements taking place.
As the Whoriskeys now prepare for the big switch on next month, they are hoping to add to their hundreds of decorations, making this year their best display yet.
Mary said: “We are looking for plastic Santas and snowmen that are no longer being used for our charity lights display at our home. Even if they are not working, we can repair them.”
If you can help the Whoriskey family, Mary can be contacted on 086 8545797.
