PLANS have been lodged to transform a number of derelict buildings in Letterkenny into a bar and restaurant.
Applicant Voyage Inns Investment Ireland Limited submitted proposals to Donegal County Council in recent days.
The proposed development at Lower Main Street comprises the change of use of existing derelict dwellings at numbers 51, 58 and 62 to form a new bar restaurant area to ground floor with associated office area to the first floor with elevational amendments to existing street facade.
The submitted plans also include the construction of a rear extension, containing a new restaurant, function room, toilet areas, stores and associated ancillary facilities.
The demolition of all outhouses and sheds to the rear of the properties to allow for new extension works, construction of a new standalone hotel building with all associated development works are also contained in proposals.
Signage for both the new barrestaurant and hotel buildings, formation of a car parking area to serve the entire development, and connection to all existing site services together with all site development works are also contained within plans.
Submissions from the general public are being accepted until Friday, December 12, 2025.
Donegal County Council will make its decision by January 7, 2026.
