Plans have been lodged for a community home in Letterkenny for the provision of residential accommodation and care.
Applicant Graded Homes Limited have submitted proposals to Donegal County Council for the change of use from a residential dwelling to community dwelling home, providing 11 bedrooms, at Oatlands, Ramelton Road.
The proposed development comprises the construction of a two-storey extension to the rear, providing six en-suite bedrooms,
Proposed plans also include internal alterations at basement, ground and first floor of existing building to provide for laundry, storage, five bedrooms, two of which will be en-suite, a living room, kitchen, dining room and bathroom.
The projected development also includes the provision of a wheelchair ramp to new secondary entrance to the rear of the building, and a new entrance to the basement. Alterations to the rear garden to provide six car parking spaces, inclusive of two disabled spots, and the conversion of an existing garage to provide staff accommodation comprising bedroom, living area and staff office are also contained in plans.
Landscaping, boundary treatments, suds and foul drainage and all ancillary works necessary to facilitate the development are also included in plans.
Donegal County Council are accepting submissions until March 1, 2026. A decision is due on March 22.
