Plans lodged for new distillery

PLANS to construct a new distillery between Fintown and Church Hill have been lodged with Donegal County Council in recent days.

The application is the name of Doyle’s Distillery Limited, a newly registered company with an address in Milltown, Newmills. Their principal business is distilling, rectifying and blending of spirits.

The planning application seeks permission to construct a new distillery complex building at Cummirk, Cloghan, to accommodate a bottling line, plant room, milling mash tun, fermentation, pallet and still areas, an office, storage area and external silos.

The application, which has been submitted by Cullinane and Steele Architects, is also seeking to change the use of an existing shed to distillery research and development centre.
