Plans lodged for coffee and bistro shop in town

PLANS have been lodged with Donegal County Council for a bistro and coffee shop in Letterkenny.

Applicant Ballyshannon Retail Limited have submitted proposals seeking planning permission for the erection of a new two-and-a-half storey building comprising a new bistro, coffee shop and deli shop area at Slate Row.

The proposed plans also comprise the demolition of existing single storey building on site, known locally as ‘The Forge’, demolition of part of rear building of existing shop/convenience store, known locally as ‘Kernan’s’ to include existing cold room, back hall and access stairs.

An office, toilet facility, food storage area, cold room, hallway, access stairs, bin storage, lobby and access stairs to ground floor (floor 1) are also contained within the proposals.

Plans also consist of the erection of two one-bedroom apartments to the second floor area, and all associated site works and connection to main public sewer.

Submissions on the proposed development can be made to Donegal County Council by January 31, 2024.
