The Dunfanaghy Community Gardeners joined the Christmas celebrations at Dunfanaghy Workhouse last week and revealed the much anticipated plans for the new Dunfanaghy Community Garden which will be located at the back of The Workhouse.
The presentation was delivered by the group’s tutor Erin Ui Domhnaill, who provided the community with a colourful vision of how a mature garden might look a couple of years down the line.
The community gardeners have been meeting now for over ten years in Dunfanaghy and this year they worked very closely with Dunfanaghy Tidy Towns to collaborate on summer planting for the village.
They are currently reaching out to the community to try and expand their membership and are encouraging younger members to come along to the garden group to help bring the garden plan to fruition.
In exchange to coming along to the group you will be rewarded with exercise, friendship and a wealth of transferable knowledge and skill that you can bring back home with you.
If you would like to join this group please get in touch with Dunfanaghy Family Resource centre by emailing dunfresource@gmail.com.
