PLANNING permission is to be lodged for the construction of a drive-thru restaurant on the Port Road in Letterkenny.
The proposed development will consist of the demolition of a two-storey dwelling and a single-storey commercial unit in the area.
In its place, applicant PJ McDermott hopes to build a single-storey drive-thru restaurant with an associated corral area.
The plans also include the construction of a car park, bicycle parking, customer order points with associated canopies, digital menu boards and landscaping including an outdoor furniture/ seating area with parasols.
The installation of a traffic barrier is also included in the plans on the meridian of the public road R229 adjacent to the proposed site entrance.
This is anticipated to provide for left-in, left-out only vehicle movements to and from the proposed development.
The planning application may be inspected or purchased at the offices of the planning authority during its opening hours.
A submission or observation in relation to the application can be made in writing to the planning authority on payment of the prescribed fee of €20 within a period of five weeks beginning on the date of receipt by the authority of the application, and such submissions and observations will be considered by the planning authority in making a decision on the application.
The planning authority may grant permission subject to or without conditions or may refuse to grant permission.
