PLANNING permission is being sought by Atlantic Technological University for a major development in Letterkenny.
Permission has been lodged for the proposed development at ATU Donegal Letterkenny Campus, Port Road, Gortlee.
The proposed development will consist of the construction of a three storey library, IT and general education building (5156 sqm) comprising reading rooms/book stacks, general and specialist teaching spaces (lecture theatre, classrooms, computer labs, and group study rooms), staff offices, administration spaces and ancillary service areas with screened roof level plant.
According to proposals, plans also comprise the provision of a north-south greenway (bicycle path/pedestrian walkway) and the provision of a gas compound, located west of the existing biomass building is also contained in plans.
The provision of covered bicycle shelters to accommodate 50 bicycle stands, the provision of site landscaping, suDS measures, site services and all associated site development works are also contained in proposals.
Proposed plans also comprise all other associated and ancillary works.
A Natura Impact Statement (NIS) has been included with the application.
Submissions or observations can be made in writing to the Planning Authority, and such submissions or observations will be considered by the Planning Authority in making a decision on the application.
The Planning Authority may grant permission subject to or without conditions, or may refuse to grant the application.
