THERE was a large turnout in Kilmacrennan for the Tawney Tractor Run in aid of Donegal Down Syndrome.
Ninety-nine tractors got involved in the fantastic event organised by Orla and Mark Neely.
Orla’s brother, Ryan Higgins, who has Down Syndrome, moved in with her following their mother’s passing last August. Donegal Down Syndrome’s services have been a great support for the Neely’s during this transition.
“The Donegal Down Syndrome are just charitable fundraising, there is no government funding there, so they appreciate every fundraising event.
“They have done so much with Ryan and they have been a great support for us, so we decided to organise the event to raise money for them,” Orla said.
The fundraiser was a massive success, the Neely’s have raised over €7,500 for Donegal Down Syndrome so far.
“We had a chip van, a tea and coffee van, DJ and an Easter Bunny hoping about, so there was plenty of entertainment for everyone.
“The weather held up good too so everything worked well for us,” Orla added.
The Neely’s also thanked everyone who donated and supported the fundraiser in any way.
