Picture special: Enjoying a day out in Rathmullan

Rathmullan looked more like a Greek Island as crowds enjoyed the near 30 degree heat beside a sparkling sea.

People from Buncrana and Derry took advantage of the ferry to make the crossing in glorious sunshine, while holiday home owners from Dublin and Killarney hosted friends who saw Donegal at its very best.

Children enjoyed the traditional bucket and spades, digging holes in the beach and swimming in the Mediterranean blue sea.
