DONEGAL Rose of Tralee Katie McAteer is still taking in all of the amazing experiences she has had over the last few weeks.
From visiting the stunning grounds of Carton House in Kildare to sampling the local cuisine on Wexford Quay, the Rathmullan native has had an unforgettable time representing the county at this year’s International Rose of Tralee Festival.
During her interview with presenter Dáithí Ó Sé Katie proudly showcased her hometown by reading a poem called ‘Ode to Rathmullan’ which she paired with footage of the seaside village to promote and welcome people back after the pandemic.
Katie spoke about her dad Frank who sadly passed away when she was four and about the huge network of support around her.
She also highlighted the charity Rainbows which provides support for children and young people facing grief and loss as a result of bereavement, parental separation, parental relationship breakdown and divorce.
