DONEGAL legends Barney and the Circle reunited for a concert in aid of Donegal Hospice.
The gig, took place in the Amharclann, Gaoth Dobhair on August 26 and was organised for Barney McDaid’s 80th birthday.
The Circle – Barney McDaid, Patrick Doherty, Noel Sweeney and Michael Hayes – played pubs, clubs and dancehalls during the heady days of the 1970s and early 1980s.

There were lovely scenes in Gaoth Dobhair on Friday night when Barney and the Circle got back together in aid of Donegal Hospice. It was the group’s first time on stage as the original Circle since 1983. Pictured in Amharclann Ghaoth Dobhair are Barney McDaid, his fellow musicians and his grand-children. Pictures: Tommy Curran
