TWO football legends created plenty of excitement in Letterkenny recently with a surprise visit to Arena 7, delighting customers and staff alike.
Former Liverpool and England defender Phil Thompson and Donegal’s own Shay Given, one of Ireland’s most celebrated goalkeepers, dropped into the popular dining destination for a flying visit yesterday.
The visit quickly became a memorable occasion as both men took time to chat with locals, pose for photographs, and soak up the warm Donegal welcome.
Phil Thompson, a Champions League winner with Liverpool and well known for his football punditry, was praised for his friendliness, while Donegal native Shay Given received a warm welcome as locals celebrated the return of a home-grown hero who enjoyed a distinguished club career.
Arena 7 staff said it was a pleasure to host the pair, noting how generous they were with their time as they posed for photos with everyone they met.
