A campaign to save a 90-year-old oak tree in Letterkenny has moved up a gear with the launch of a petition calling on Donegal County Council to halt plans to cut down the tree.

Among the locals standing in solidarity with the protestors is Mary T. Sweeney who recently announced her candidacy for Aontú in the upcoming General Election.
