THE HSE has confirmed that a permanent GP has been recruited for Dunkineely.
Dr Janinda Muhandiramge will take up the role from Monday, January 30th.
The surgery had been without a GP since November, with people having to attend Glenties for appointments.
In the interim, Dr Charles McManus was providing cover for GMS patients from the Health Centre in Glenties.
In a statement the HSE said, “The HSE would like to advise that Dr Janinda Muhandiramge has been formally appointed to the post with effect from Monday 30th January 2023 and will commence in the role as GP for Dunkineely on a full time basis.
“The HSE wishes him well in his new role.”
