A FUNDRAISING Fashion Show was held in Penneys Sligo this week in support of their former colleague, Olivia Robb, who was recently diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.
Best known for working as a member of staff in Penneys Letterkenny for many years, Olivia started her career in the Sligo store 30 years ago.
This is the second fundraising Fashion Show held since the Sligo native received her diagnosis, with the first taking place last week in the Letterkenny store.
Raising a whopping €5075 on the night, the Sligo store decided to follow in their footsteps.
Olivia’s diagnosis has led to significant and immediate challenges for her family, emotionally, practically and financially.
With many fundraisers being held in a bid to help ease the financial burden, Olivia’s brother, Tony Conlon thanked the staff in Penneys Letterkenny and Sligo for their show of support.
“We wish to acknowledge, the organisers and the participants in the fashion show in Sligo especially the young lads and lassies who made the night a very enjoyable event, thank you so much.
“The members of the public who turned up on the night and all who contributed to the fundraising event, thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
“The business community in Sligo and across the North West thank you so much for your support and contributions.
“It was a very successful night,” Tony concluded.
