St Eunan’s 0-21 Swatragh 0-21 (St Eunan’s win 5-4 on penalties)
St Eunan’s edged a thrilling encounter in Dungannon on penalties as they beat Swatragh to reach the Ulster Junior Hurling Championship final.
Conor O’Grady missed to put the Black and Amber on the back foot in the shootout but Cian Hennessy saved two and Cathal O’Brien scored the winning penalty to make it 5-4.
After taking an 0-10 to 0-6 lead in at half-time, St Eunan’s looked on top but Swatragh had nine wides in that opening 30 minutes.
The Derry Junior winners got back into it and went ahead 0-13 to 0-12 after a good spell of dominance, but St Eunan’s didn’t give up and while Cormac Finn got sent off, O’Brien converted a free in added time to end it 0-17 apiece.
A further two scores per team followed in each half of extra-time, with Daire O’Maoileidigh’s tenth free of the game levelling matters on the 82nd minute to bring it to penalties where Hennessy and O’Brien delivered.
