Pedestrian dies in early morning road tragedy

A man has died following a crash near Dunfanaghy in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).

The victim, a pedestrian in his late 20s, was fatally injured when he was struck by a car at Sandhill, Dunfanaghy, at about 4.15am. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female driver of the car was uninjured.

The road at the scene remains closed to facilitate an examination of the area by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
