PCC FALCARRAGH will bid to win the McDevitt Cup (Ulster Under 14 and a Half ‘C’) for the first time in their history when they take on St Ronan’s College, Lurgan in Owenbeg on Friday at 12pm.

The Falcarragh school booked their place in the decider after a tough semi-final with Loreto Convent, Coleraine last Tuesday, when they needed extra-time to see off the Derry boys.

There were some sore bodies after that triumph, but team manager Brian McDermott says his charges have recovered well, and are feeling fresh ahead of the clash at the Derry Centre of Excellence.

“Everybody is at full fitness and we’re raring to go. Our semi-final win over Coleraine last week was a tough match and a few of the lads struggled through with cramp,” McDermott explained.

“It took them a few days to recover, but they are all ready to go now and looking forward to it.

“None of them have ever won a schools medal before, so we’re all hungry to win this week.”
