PBP North West Conference in Letterkenny this weekend

The People Before Profit North West Conference will take place this weekend in Letterkenny. The conference will see many speakers talk at length about topics including poverty, repeal the eighth and housing and homelessness.

Speaking to the Donegal News ahead of the conference, PBP representative, Finnian O’Donnell encouraged the public to come along to Sunday’s free event.
“Donegal has long had a socialist undercurrent. From the days of the socialist revolutionary, Peader O Donnell right up to the current day where we see a rise of the left here in the county. Of course, that hasn’t been reflective with the establishment parties holding the reigns throughout the century but, that tide is turning and once again we see the surge of socialism getting up off its knees. People want a better Donegal, a more inclusive non secular, fresh thinking Donegal. We, at People Before Profit believe that the establishment parties certainly do not deliver that.”

He went on to say the party is hoping to attract people who have never voted before, and encouraged people to not only get informed, but to engage and discuss the issues which will be addresses.
“I believe that People Before Profit is the movement that people can look to now and start to hope for a better future, and only by assisting the working class, not dominating, we can bring about real change in our Ireland for all workers of our society,” he concluded.
The North West Conference will take place in The Station House Hotel, Letterkenny on Sunday, March 25 from 12:30pm until  6:30pm.
