Patrick Bonner named new Keadue Rovers manager

Keadue Rovers have announced that Patrick Bonner will be their first team manager for the 2024/25 season

The Central Park side finished third last year and were defeated in a thrilling Brian McCormick Cup final by Letterkenny Rovers in what was a good season under the management of Pat Ward.

But the club announced at the end of last week that Ward was stepping down after three years in charge and they wasted no time in announcing his replacement who will be assisted by Paul Ferry.

The club announced the appointment on social media, saying:

“Keadue Rovers FC are absolutely delighted to announce Patrick Bonner as their new 1st team manager.

“Patrick enjoyed a fine playing career, one which seen him represent Finn Harps, Derry City, Fanad United, and of course Keadue Rovers.

“He was also capped at underage level for Ireland.

“Paul also enjoyed a stellar career, and captained the Irish Schoolboys International side in 2003.

“He also made his Finn Harps first-team debut that same season against Cobh Ramblers, and had a spell at Galway United, whilst he also played for Keadue in the Ulster Senior League.

“It is fantastic to get the two lads onboard ahead of the 2024/2025 campaign.

“The pair are already busy making plans for pre-season, and hope to announce a few new signings in the next few days, whilst they also plan to add to their backroom team.

“We wish them both well ahead of the new season.”
