A total solar eclipse will occur tonight but across Ireland only a partial eclipse will be visible, weather permitting.
There is great excitement among astronomers worldwide to see and record this ‘once in a lifetime’ phenomenal total solar eclipse, last witnessed on March 9, 2016.
The best place to be would ideally be Mexico, but for us less fortunate, the experts recommend we may be lucky, depending on the weather of course, and see a partial eclipse tonight, looking out west, north west, starting from 7.54 pm, with sunset at 8.22 pm.
