The funeral will take place in Buncrana on Wednesday of James (Jimmy) McKenna, 5 Logan Close, Luddan, Buncrana, who died in a fatal road collision in Moville at the weekend.
The 25 year-old died at the scene after being struck by a car shortly after 1.30am on Sunday at Ballynally, near Moville.
Jimmy was a very popular and well known member of the community, and the McKenna family are also very well known right around the county.
Buncrana parish priest Fr Francis Bradley said Jimmy was a fun-loving man who enjoyed life to the full.
Speaking on Highland Radio, Fr Bradley said the McKenna family is heartbroken.
“He lived for his family in so many ways,” Fr Bradley said.
“It’s immensely sad, but thankfully there are good people in the community who gather around families at this time, and they help to shoulder the burden. But in the end, that burden has to be shouldered by the family themselves, and they will miss him immensely.”

Funeral leaving there on Wednesday at 9.15am for requiem Mass at St. Mary’s Oratory, Buncrana with burial afterwards in Cockhill Cemetery.
