A new feature film, The Flying Mountain, will begin filming in and around Donegal in February 2026, and the production team is inviting members of the public to take part as background extras.
The Flying Mountain is a powerful and visually striking drama that follows two brothers as they chase life’s biggest questions — from the cliffs of Ireland to Tibet’s mythical “Flying Mountain.”
Along the way, one brother confronts a chosen death, while the other discovers that his own life’s path is still unfinished.
The film is written and directed by Nicolas Steiner, and co-produced by Irish producers David Collins, Eamon Hughes, and Line Producer Edwina Forkin.
The production is proud to be filming on location in Donegal, showcasing the county’s dramatic locations on screen. Extras of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
No previous acting experience is required.
