Owolabi spot on as Harps knock Derry out of FAI Cup

Finn Harps 1-0 Derry City

TUNDE Owolabi grabbed the winner from the penalty spot as Finn Harps defeated North West rivals Derry City tonight to qualify for the quarter-finals of the FAI Cup.

A sell-out crowd of 800 fans were permitted through the turnstiles but chances were few and far between in the first half and the sides were deadlocked at the break.

Adam Foley was unlucky with two efforts at the start of the second half as Harps upped the ante.

The home side were then awarded a penalty in the 74th minute when Ryan Rainey was fouled by Ronan Boyce, and Tunde Owolabi made no mistake with an excellent shot into the top corner.

Derry pressed for a leveller but Harps stood strong and came out with a famous victory.
