UISCE Éireann is advising customers on the Lough Mourne Public Water Supply that overnight water restrictions will remain in place while work continues to stabilise supplies and replenish local reservoirs.
The restrictions – which came into force at the end of last week – are operating nightly from 10pm to 8am the following morning, in order to ensure daytime supplies for homes and businesses.
Customers in the Twin Towns, Crossroads, Convoy, Lifford, and Rossgier may continue to experience low pressure or interruptions during these times.
Uisce Éireann say ongoing low reservoir levels, driven by higher than normal demand and bursts on the network, mean restrictions must remain in place to protect daytime service for the wider community.
Operations crews are active across the water supply zone to locate and repair leaks and to manage the network as efficiently as possible.
Uisce Éireann’s Damien O’Sullivan explained: “We understand how disruptive restrictions can be and we regret the inconvenience.
“Keeping the nighttime measures in place is the most effective way to safeguard daytime supplies while reservoir levels recover.
“We’re asking everyone in the affected areas to continue using water wisely, small savings in each home and business make a big difference across the community.
“We would also urge members of the public to continue to report any leaks or bursts on the public water network to our Customer Care Team on 1800 278 278, which is open 24/7.”
