Over €80,000 in funding for biodiversity projects in Donegal

Malcolm Noonan TD, Minister of State for Heritage and Electoral Reform, has today announced funding for local biodiversity projects, with €88,846 going to five projects in Donegal.

Projects approved this year include:

  • €39,144 for Birds Habitat Protection at five sites throughout Donegal
  • €21,165 for a Phase II Wetland Survey
  • €17,238 for Monitoring of Birds on Tory Island
  • €8,075 for The Native Woodlands of Donegal Illustrated Book
  • €3,224 for Invasive Alien Species management and Dune management works in Marble Hill

A total of 188 projects have been approved across all 31 local authorities, covering a range of biodiversity-related activities, including invasive alien species control, dune restoration, wetland surveys and biodiversity awareness and training.
