Over €6,000 raised for North West Breast Cancer despite event cancellation

The Committee of the Breast Cancer Ball in Letterkenny has announced that over €6,000 has been raised for breast cancer support and research despite the events cancellation.

The much-anticipated Ball originally scheduled for December 2024 had to be cancelled due to severe storm conditions.

However, despite this setback, the response from ticket holders and sponsors was nothing short of amazing.

Many people chose to donate their ticket fees, and additional contributions poured in, ensuring that significant funds were still raised for this important cause.

“We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who supported the event, whether by donating, purchasing tickets, or contributing in other ways.

“While we were disappointed not to be able to celebrate in person, the kindness and support from our community have been truly heart-warming. Every penny raised will go towards helping those affected by breast cancer, making a real difference in their lives,” said a spokesperson from the Committee of the Breast Cancer Ball.

“Looking ahead, we are excited to confirm that the Breast Cancer Ball will return on Friday, December 5, 2025.

“We can’t wait to bring everyone together once again for an evening of celebration, reflection, and fundraising for this important cause. Please save the date in your social diary,” they added.
