Oven that fell from car boot returned to owner

AN oven that had fallen from the boot of a car while being transported in Letterkenny has been returned to its rightful owner.

Gardaí issued an appeal last week after the oven had fallen from the boot of the vehicle at  Carnamuggagh Upper, Letterkenny, in early December of last year.

A man had been observed placing the oven in his van a short time later. Gardaí have said that following their appeal, the man in question immediately contacted the garda station.

The man had removed the oven from the road and had kept it in safe storage.

A garda spokesperson said: “He had removed the oven from the road and had kept it in safe storage. He had been making enquiries locally in an attempt to return it to the rightful owner.

“The oven has now been returned to the owner and they are most grateful to the man in question for his assistance.”
