O’Sullivan strike gives Cork narrow win over Finn Harps

Cork City 1 Finn Harps 0

A moment of class from teenager Cathal O’Sullivan was all that separated the sides as Finn Harps were defeated by Cork City in Turner’s Cross.

Darren Murphy’s men began well and had a couple of very good chances through Sean Patton, Conor Tourish and Jamie Watson early on but they couldn’t hit the target.

It was the same at the other and as Cork never troubled Tim Hiemer until just after the hour mark as 17-year-old O’Sullivan ran from the halfway line and curled the ball into the corner of the net leaving Hiemer stranded.

New signing Gavin Gilmore had a good chance to equalise but Bradley Wade saved and Darren Murphy’s men would be disappointed going back up the road without a result as the league leaders held on.
