O’Reilly embracing the extra commitment

EILIS O’Reilly has spent the last few years away from her home parish, so it means a lot to her to be back donning the green and white jersey this season.

O’Reilly spent some time living in Manchester and Sharjah, and was involved in Gaelic Games in both cities.

However, nothing beats representing your own, and O’Reilly has enjoyed Naomh Muire’s crazy season this year.

The primary school teacher has noticed a real shift in attitude, and she says that has played a big part in their success in 2019.

“I was away abroad for a few years but when I came back I got involved with the girls again.

“Over the last few years we weren’t really that committed, and sometimes there were only five girls there at training and that was very frustrating.

“I was living in Dublin but moved home in July and I noticed a change and everyone has been putting in the effort.

“I’m living in Letterkenny myself and was leaving at six o’clock in the morning all summer to get down for training at 7 on Tuesday and Thursdays.

“I’m a teacher and we like to relax during the summer holidays, but I actually loved it.
