Orange warning issued ahead of Storm Aiden

AN ORANGE wind warning has been issued for Donegal this weekend ahead of the arrival of Storm Aiden.

Met Éireann issued the ‘severe wind warning’ for Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Sligo and Clare. It will come into force at 8am tomorrow morning (Saturday) and remain in place until 4pm.

A spokesperson for Met Éireann said: “On Saturday morning and afternoon strong southwest to west winds associated with Storm Aiden will reach mean speeds of 65 to 80km/h, with severe and damaging gusts of 100 to 130km/h.”
