WITH just a week to go until the London Olympics, an exhibition of posters and memorabilia belonging to a Letterkenny collector has gone on display at the County Museum.
This exhibition draws on Letterkenny man Paul Foley’s Olympic poster and memorabilia collection and shows the evolution of the Olympic Games poster and related memorabilia, from 1900 right up to 2012.
This diverse collection of images includes official posters for the football tournament held in the summer games set in their historical context, and linked to pervading themes such as politics, commerce, the Olympic symbols, cultural and physical diversity, and urban regeneration.
