Funding of €639,000 came from from An Roinn Gnóthaí, Pobail, Comhionannas agus Gaeltachta and the balance of €160,000 was raised at local level by the centre’s committee making the total sum invested in Ionad Naomh Padraig to date €1.6million.
As well as that the centre received a sum of €30,000 from Meitheal Forbartha na Gaeltachta for the provision of a state of the art kitchen as well as equipment for Phase 2.
The centre was blessed by Fr Brian Ó Fearraigh, Seipleanach Phobal Scoil Ghaoth Dobhair while local band Banna Ceoil Dhobhair performed at the opening ceremony.
