Finn Harps 1 Wexford 0
Sean O’Donnell’s first half volley was the only goal of the game as Finn Harps got back to winning ways against Wexford at Finn Park.
The Carndonagh man had a chance just after the quarter of an hour mark as he was played in on the left but his effort was going wide as it was cleared for a throw.
Tony McNamee launched that throw into the box and Wexford ‘keeper Owen Mason missed the ball as O’Donnell was there at the back post to volley into the net.
Wexford looked for an equaliser with Aaron Dobbs hitting the bar before Benjamin Lynch somehow missed from a yard out.
Thomas Oluwa hit the post in the second half while the home side also looked to put the game out of sight, but there would be no second goal.
The Harps move ahead of their opponents up to fourth place and face third placed side Athlone Town at 5pm in Finn Park on Bank Holiday Monday.
