O’Donnell opts for poster-free Donegal election campaign

SELINA O’Donnell, who’s seeking to represent the Letterkenny area on Donegal County Council as an Independent, has announced she’s opting for a poster-free campaign.

Ms O’Donnell has decided to forgo traditional election posters over concerns about cluttering the town and the outdated nature of the practice. She believes that in today’s digital age, where social media platforms offer extensive reach, the reliance on physical posters is unnecessary.

“The posters make the town look a bit cluttered, they blight the urban scape,” said Ms O’Donnell.

“In this day and age with so much focus on social media and the ability to post reels and videos online, the election poster seems to be a bit of an outdated concept,” added the Independent candidate.

Ms O’Donnell insists that her approach is not only more environmentally friendly but also more effective in reaching a wider audience.
“I think I can get elected to the council for Letterkenny without plastering my face around the town and subliminally hypnotising people into voting for me,” she said.
