Luke O’Donnell was introduced as a second half substitute for the Republic of Ireland Under 17 team today but they fell to a 4-1 defeat in the first of their UEFA U-17 EURO Elite Round Qualifiers in the Cidade Desportiva do SC Braga in Portugal.
Buncrana youngster O’Donnell, who plays his club football with Derry City, came on in the 66th minute.
Finn Harps goalkeeper Oisin Cooney is part of the squad but didn’t feature today.
