Dylan Browne McMonagle was crowned the Champion Irish Flat jockey for 2025.
The Letterkenny jockey pushed hard for the title and finished the campaign with 95 winners.
That proved too much for Cathal Keane, who had won the previous five titles.

The Twin Towns Club lightweight defeated Tetiana Zveniehoodska by a unanimous decision to become only the third Donegal boxer to win a European medal.
Caoimhin Connolly (Twin Towns) and Kerry Brown (Convoy) won gold and silver medals respectively at the Boxam Junior/Youth tournament in Spain.
It was a bittersweet month for boxing in the county as County Board President Peter O’Donnell, who gave so much to his sport and Raphoe BC sadly passed away.
In Gaelic Games, there was huge celebrations for Naomh Conaill as they got their hands on the Dr Maguire Cup for an eighth time.
They were seven points down at half-time and Gaoth Dobhair really should have killed off the match towards the end of the second half.
However, Martin Regan’s Naomh Conaill forced extra-time and went on to win by 2-18 to 1-19.
It proved to be a great day for Naomh Conaill as their reserves won the Senior ‘B’ title after they also beat Gaoth Dobhair in an extra-time epic.

Naomh Columba secured the Intermediate title as they proved much too strong for Malin and won by 3-14 to 2-9.
Buncrana staved off Burt in an Inishowen derby to win the Intermediate ‘B’ title.
Conor O’Donnell inspired Carndonagh to a 1-16 to 1-12 win over Letterkenny Gaels in the Junior ‘A’ Championship Final.
It was a double for Carn as they also won the Junior ‘B’ Final when they saw off Convoy.
In the Senior ‘C’ Championship, Sean MacCumhaills became the first winners of the Manus Kelly Memorial Cup when they defeated St Eunan’s.
Four Masters retained the Division 1 Minor Championship.
A first half flurry helped them take control against Glenswilly and they eventually won out by 6-10 to 0-9.
Ardara clinched the Division 2 Minor crown when they beat Dungloe by 1-10 to 1-6
Letterkenny Gaels proved too strong for St Naul’s in the Division 3 Minor Final and came through by 2-15 to 1-7.
There was delight for Declan Bonner and Paul Brennan as their Erne Gaels side won the Fermanagh Senior Championship title.
Luke Barrett was part of the Loughmacrory senior management team that guided the Tyrone club to their first ever title.
There was despair for Michael McGeehin as the Westport team he coached were stung at the death by Ballina in the Mayo decider.
The Glenfin senior ladies dethroned Termon in impressive style as Yvonne Bonner excelled in a 2-8 to 0-5 victory.
Glenfin senior ladies put in a spirited effort but were beaten by 2-10 to 1-10 by Errigal Ciaran in the Ulster Senior Club quarter-final.
Gaeil Fhánada exited the Ulster Intermediate Championship at the first hurdle.
They were without star player Lauren Carr who had emigrated and lost to Cavan side Knockbride who went all the way to the All-Ireland Final.
Naomh Columba ladies were unfortunate in their Ulster quarter-final against Killeevan Sarsfields. Earlier in the month, they edged out Urris to win the Junior ‘A’ Ladies title.
St Michael’s got their hands on the Donegal LGFA Junior ‘B’ crown after beating Red Hughs.
In the MacRory Cup, Abbey Vocational School made a bright start against St Michael’s Enniskillen and won by nine points.
However, there was disappointment for Southwest Donegal, who were well beaten by Our Lady’s, Castleblayney.
In soccer, Seamus Coleman returned to the Republic of Ireland team and put in a strong performance away against Portugal but the side lost 1-0.
Coleman was back in the starting line-up a couple of days later as Ireland came away with a crucial 1-0 victory over Armenia.
Drumkeen’s Sean Patton netted his first goal for Reading as they defeated MK Dons 1-0 in the EFL Trophy.
Finn Harps closed out their season with minimum fuss as they were out of promotion contention.
They lost 3-0 to champions Dundalk before drawing 1-1 with Kerry.
Kevin McHugh’s team then lost a cracking game 4-3 against UCD and they finished the campaign in eighth position.
There was great news for Harps trio Gavin McAteer, Josh Cullen and Corey Cummins-Sheridan as they were selected for the Republic of Ireland squad for the Under 17 World Cup.
Harps player Charlie Bonner was included in the Ireland Under 15 squad.
Patrick Ferry and his Treaty United side reached the play-offs.
They got the better of Cobh Ramblers in the first leg of their semi-final clash.
In the Donegal Junior League Premier Division, Michael Funston’s Bonagee United stunned reigning champions Letterkenny Rovers when they defeated them 3-0.
In athletics, Donegal were well represented at the European Masters Athletics Championships in Madeira.
Pauric McKinney (Inishowen) took gold in the M60 10k road race and the 8km cross country.
Finn Valley AC’s Kay Byrne helped Ireland to a team silver in the F60 10k road race, while Catriona Devine won the bronze in the W50 1500m.
Rosses AC’s Aidan Gillespie came seventh in the M50 100m hurdles final, while Brian Boyce of Milford AC was also seventh in the M45 400m.
Shane Toolan (Tir Chonaill AC) and Barry Mackey (Letterkenny AC) also performed with distinction in the green vest.
Letterkenny AC dominated at the Donegal Senior Cross Country Championships in Carndonagh.
Stephen McAuley won the men’s race with his clubmates Eoghain McGinley and Donal Farren coming second and third respectively.
Letterkenny took the men’s team honours.
Nakita Burke was in excellent form to win the women’s race.
Helen McCready (Rosses) was second while Leoni Cooke came third and helped Finn Valley to the women’s title.
The Letterkenny AC team of Stephen McAuley, Eoghain McGinley, and Ciaran McGonagle secured a team bronze in the Dublin City Marathon.

Odhran McBrearty won a gold medal in the Ulster Under 18 Cross Country Championship race.
Rally driver Michael Boyle claimed a great win in the Cork 20 Rally.
Motorcyclist Rhys Irwin was crowned the 2025 British Supersport Champion after finishing second at Brands Hatch.
A third place finish would’ve been enough to secure Irwin the Supersport title regardless of the result of his title rival Ben Currie.
Currie produced a fantastic display to cross the line in first and keep his title chances alive.
However, the Donegal man withstood the pressure and that was applied to him to finish three seconds behind the Australian and seal the 2025 title.
Karate star Zara Thompson won two medals at the WUKF European Championships in Latvia.
Thompson represented North West Shotokan Karate Club and WUKF Ireland and claimed a bronze in the Female Cadet Open Weight Kumite.
She then backed that up by earning a silver in the Female Junior Sanbon Team event.
In badminton, Rachael Darragh made a welcome return after an injury lay-off to play in the Türkiye International Championship.
