O’CAROLAN, P. J. (Peter Joseph) – former proprietor of The Dew Drop Inn, Laghey, suddenly and peacefully, in his 82nd year. Pre-deceased by his wife, Ethna and son John.

Deeply loved father of Sandra, Stephen, Fidelma and Angela. Beloved grandfather to Ryan, Erin, Ciara, Kaytlin, Sorcha, Niamh, Molly, Emma and Olivia, father-in-law to Kevin, Kerry, Jono and Jacqueline. Will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, his nieces and nephews and his wider family and friends.

Reposing at his residence. Removal from his late residence to St. Brigid’s Church, Ballintra on Friday morning for 11 am Funeral Mass, followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

Due to ongoing Government guidelines on Covid-19, house to remain private to family please, with a maximum of ten people permitted to attend funeral.

Family flowers only.

Anyone wishing to pay their respects to the family can do so as the funeral cortège leaves the family home, en route to the church on Friday morning, bearing in mind social distancing, use of face coverings and observing strict hand hygiene practice.

    Rest in peace P.J. I’m sure .any good stories will be told now of Pat Bartlay,Sonnie McGinley ,Bertie Wray, Sister Iris Bustard,Willy Thorens, Nail Travers,Barney Curristain,Willy Harron,Pat McGlynn,Jimy Crawford,Archie Graham,Audie Brown, Patsy McGirr, are just a few homely Characters all gone now hope all are in Heaven and Happy please God.

    William, thank you for your tribute to our Daddy, he was the most gentle man in the world, so were all the other names that you listed.
    To sad to really say much, we were not able to get home due to current pandemic, it was completely out of nowhere for us to lose our Daddy, he was the youngest in his family and the last one to go. He has many legacies.
    I’m very privileged to be one of his children.
    I miss calling him every Saturday night so Sunday morning here in NZ. He did have Alexa, so we would talk a few times a week & Daddy always said “sure right in the room with me, we would sit and babble to eachother, we could see each other on the device, I’m so grateful for technology.
